What is Considered Long Distance

sorry i thought i replied before. anything nuraber that terminates in the green area is local. i know it says broadband but this is a good map to use because it does not include any pec or other extended areas.

Here's a second question. If I had the local plan only and someone calls me long distance, will I still be charged Long Distance by Cricket? or is that only if I initiate the call?

Thanks

I believe it's if you initiate the call. On a side note, apparently long distance under Cricket expanRAB outside the continental United States in some instances. I've been making calls to my friend in Toronto all month and recieved no extra charges for my calls whatsoever. I'm unsure of where the boundary for that lies.

Let me chime in here and say -

With Cell Phones now being the norm allowing for socitiy to be ever more so mobile

and

Living in Big Cities like Chicago, DC, NYC, Philadelphia

I would not conisder having a Plan that doesnt include Long Distance Calling, (having only Area Wide Coverage is another thing all together, meaning you can leave you city without paying Roaming)....I know for a fact from living on the E Coast and Between NY, Philly and DC (and I'm sure Chicago is the same) that its becoming quite normal for people to have area codes from all over the US...My friend/co-worker has a FL area code and his wife has a NY nuraber...

All basic cellphone plans should include domestic long distance...Or else you will find there are alot of people right in your hometown that you cannot call with paying the LD charges.

Area Wide Plans - well that depenRAB on how much you travel outside you local coverage area.

nationwide LD is a must and unlimited roaming is a good thing if you can get it

sadly cricket does not have roaming everywhere yet, but they are moving in that direction with their recent PEC
