What is causing this noise on my 02 Dodge Durango!!?

Well here I am again on this website. I had taken my 2002 dodge Durango 4.7 4WD to firestone. They told me both half shafts, seals, and rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The front had been making a smacking/clicking/rattling noise from the drivers side. I replaced the shaft today on the drivers side as well as the rotors and brakes. Now I put the car in 4WD and drive away. Problem is that the car is still making the same noise. It is surely coming from the drivers side. The differential that the shafts come out of is right under the drivers seat. I am getting tired of hitting dead ends as I spend countless dollars at auto zone. I keep hearing people say its the cv joints/ half shafts well this is not the case. So please help any suggestions. I am going to do the passenger side tomorrow and maybe even the rack and pinion to get that finished. Sometime in the near future I want this not to be all for nothing. I am close to pulling my hair out!!! Thanks for the time.
