(-40C) 1000V FT4 AG14 FMRC GP-2? Cable marked: Alcan B 3/C 6 AWG AL ACM NUAL ACWU 90 XLPE (-40C) 1000V FT4 AG14 FMRC GP-2.
Cable is currently running 40 amp service to my shop. Problem is, I need 60 amp minimum. An electrician friend will put whatever I need in, provided I buy it in advance, and he's not available to ask him this question. (I'm also just plain curious about the cable markings, as I can't find this particular cable online)
I have: 40 amp breaker coming off 200 amp panel, to shop sub-panel with a 40 amp breaker in it. (2 x 240V, 6 x 110V/15A breakers in the sub-panel.) If the cable can handle it, I can simply have the electrician switch the 40 amp breakers to 60's.
If not, I've got another conduit which will handle the addition of a 12/3 cable, giving me another 15 amp circuit, for a total of 55 amps. Not enough, but cheaper than running a new 70' Teck cable at $600+.
