what is better GIMP or Photoshop?

hi i have bebo and want to make some skins so my first question is can i use GIMP to do it or does it have to be photoshop. my second one is how much do both of them cost, and lastly in your opinion which is better??

ok, i have an idea of what i will choose, erm can i have a link for the real website where i can download it, i am scared i will go on a bad one and get a virus
btw the person who was trying to say about cars i am 12 and a girl, don't really know much about them lol
 
In terms of power, Photoshop is FAR superior to GIMP, but seeing as GIMP's free and also in my opinion at least a lot simpler to use than Photoshop you'll be fine. I personally use GIMP for my Bebo skins and haven't ever had a problem.
