What is better for trails and jumping Yamaha or Honda?

I've been looking at a new bike. I really want a Yamaha because I like there bikes. I don't know out of three things though. I would like to either purchase a Yamaha 250 Yz (motocross) or a Yamaha 230TT-R (trail bike) but the 250 is bigger and is good for wide open running. I want a bike that's very fast but also good for trails. The honda though is nearly 3,000$ higher. Whats the better value? Handles better, last longer, and runs better? Please help me out on facts not opinions.

Yamaha does make a 230, the TT-R230. Whether you buy a Honda or a Yamaha makes no difference, it is the type of bike thet is important not the brand when speaking of the big 5. Any 250 motocross bike will cost about $3000 more than a 230 trail bike. I would really recommend that you not go with a YZ250. You would be much better off with a YZ250F or WR250F. The YZ250 2 stroke is not going to be suitable for trail riding and the TT-R230 is not suitable for jumping. The other 2 bikes would work great for any application. No idea what the clown above is talking about.

Yamaha doesn't make a 230 bud. A beginner's not going to want to rebuild a yz all the time so your only choice left is the 250 of ambiguous brand.
