What is Army JRTC like?

I'm going to JRTC with my unit next month at Fort Polk. This will be my first deployment and everything. What's JRTC like? What's deployment like? I'm going to Afghanistan(Kunar) by the way.

Just be happy you're not going there in the summer. I went there a few years back in May and all I had was prickly heat for about a month. Sucked.
