Apparently someone made a decision. Either you agree with it or you don't. If you don't agree with the decision you have the right (if you want to) to appeal that decision within a certain time frame and get another decision by someone at a higher level. It is up to you to prove that the decision was wrong. If you don't want to appeal the decision then don't press the "Appeal" button. Delete it. The appeal period runs out when you appeal the decision or it runs out when they tell you it does; e.g. 60 days or whatever.
