What is an xbox 360 media extender and what can i do with it and how do i get it?

Its simply sharing files from your computer with your Xbox. You can then stream videos and music from your computer on your xbox as long as its connected to your home network. Go to my Xbox and go to the windows media tab. once there is will give you easy instructions on how to setup your media extender. You may have to play around with your internet security on your computer if you can't get it connected. you will also have to run the setup on your computer but it should start up automatically if you have your xbox connected to you network.
 
A media extender is an add-on for Windows Media Center PC

The xbox 360 is a media extender, thus can stream movies and music when connected to a Windows Media Center PC which is on the same network

Obviously you need a PC with Windows Media Center or Vista Home Edition
