What is an inexpensive yet durable crankest for a downhill mountain bike?

I've just recently bought a new trek 4300 with disc brakes and ive been riding the crap out of it. I realized that one of my gears started falling and i looked and one of them was bent so i hammered it straight, but the same problem kept happening so i decided to buy a new crankest. Since i am fairly new to this sport i don't know what brand and model i should buy please help, thanks in advance. Like i said for a downhill mountain bike and biker.
 
A Trek 4300 is not a downhill bike, it is an all mountain bike or a trial bike but doing too much on it will certainly be the end of it and it sounds to me like you need to invest in a 44-32-22 Shimano SLX crank with a bashguard for it or just go for a two ring combo in the front such as a 32-22 combo with a bashguard and leave the hammer alone. Pricepoint.com has great bash guards so that when you hit something you dont tear up your chain ring....They have a big ring bashguard that will fit over top of a 44T chainring without taking the big ring off the crank and you can also buy a new chainring which is 104x44T for the crank rather than buying the whole crank.
 
Check out Truvativ Hussfelt or Shimano Saint (I hate Shimano) and you should be able to find something on EBAY for pretty cheap and save yourself the in store sticker price.
