It was attached to the block heater cord. It didnt seem to be working as i unplugged it and the block heater seems to be working now. What would that cord that i removed be used for or what is it?
This item is a switch that turns on and off the block heater. Looks like it is more a cost saver than a safety piece of equipment. If you have consistently below -12C then you should be OK. You can always get one at the link I provided..
