What is a good solid home business or job?

I am just sick of the commute to work and the hours. I like flexibility and I think the only way I am going to get that is by working at home. I would like to be able to work longer hours if I want to. I would like to run a business from home with my fiance. I am wondering what others do. I'm not really looking for anything that will make $5000 a month each or anything but I do need to make a reasonable amount of money... Like $500-$1000-$1500 won't really cut it but if you have any part time jobs that would pay that much I'm definitely interested. We work in different fields: I work technical support and he is an account manager. We don't necessary need to stay in our fields... we are very open we just want something that seems to work. Please let me know what you think. I've been looking at and testing out things for a long time... I really don't want to be calling people and trying to get them to buy stuff like health care, etc. I won't even consider that because it's not something that either one of us would enjoy even if it's not on someone else's clock. We'll even take business ideas. Thank you so much for all of your help!
