What is a good pair of shoes that are good for hiking but can also get wet?

Do these look ok? I'm flying out west with my wife and another couple in about a month and we're going to Zion, Death Valley, and Las Vegas. So I need a shoe that can get wet but is also good for hiking. Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks
 
Those shoes are ugly. But does it really matter. Your going to be hiking. So you need to wear what is comfortable and waterproof. How about Timberlands. They make those for hiking and they are really nice lookin.
