what is a good novel about a cynical view on life?

Well, I mean if you are looking for a soulless, uncaring person, I doubt you will find such a book. However, there is a book called Wicked by Gregory Maguire that I enjoy. When I read the back of the book, I must admit, I immediately placed it back on the shelf, but a friend of mine convinced me to get it and give it a chance. I love the main character because she is VERY cynical, and has a lot of the same beliefs as I do, politically and religiously. Anyway, I found this book to be a good read, in which I could completely correspond with the character. You should give it a shot.

It's so depresing, dull, dreary, lifeless and empty it makes my soul bleed! Everything fom plot to characters is depressingly bleak.

In "The Picture of Dorian Gray" the main both Dorian and Henry Wattson have cynical views on life. Its an amazing book, btw.
 
If someone wrote a book about my life you would have yourself a good cynical view on life novel.
