ok im looking for a good meal to take with me camping but i dont want to do a fire during the day because of the blazing heat as it is but i want to have a good meal besides sandwitches can anyone help me?

Its pretty hard to do a meal without fire unless your gonna go with pb&j. theres also trail mix, but no actual meals can reallly be made without a fire sorry

I always take my wet fuel stove and fire it up.

It also depends how many days I am on the trail.
If your between sites to bed down for the night, crackers, cheese, salami and some water.

Sandwiches are like fine for day hikes. Bread gets crushed in the pack.

I also like tuna fish, so, I'll crack open a can, some cheese, crackers or a hunk of sourdough bread (not sliced) and feast.

If I fire up my stove on the trail, it's usually for easy stuff like noodles and I'll add some dehydrated meats and veggies. But on a trail, you will need a water source to clean up. Better to plan an easy cold meal.

I like the foil packed tuna and salmon you can get at the grocery store (though it's not a great idea if you are camping in bear country because the packaging retains the fish scent.) The smoked and teriyaki salmon and the lemon pepper tuna are very tasty. Bring pita bread or tortillas to roll it up in. I also like canned German potato salad -- diced potatoes with bacon bits and a vinegary dressing. I think it tastes fine right from the can. Also, a can of deviled ham is tasty spread on crackers or pitas with your pocket knife. String cheese in the individual plastic sleeves holds up for several days without refrigeration, as does dry salami and summer sausage. Regular V-8 juice in the pop-top cans is very good for you to drink during hot hikes because of the salt and other electrolytes in it. I like to carry a baggie of those peeled baby carrots, too, or apple slices -- good for crunch and they kind of act like a natural tooth brush at the end of a meal by cleaning up your mouth. If you like sweet stuff, oatmeal cookies and banana or nut bread are tasty on the trail.
