What is a good material to make a sculpture out of?

This is for an art class and it has to be light weight and easily transportable. Also i was thinking about doing something with branches so im not sure if foam would be the best thing. Unless there is a special kind. What should i use?
 
Almost anything - look around you.
Cloth or string stiffened with starch or glue, Same with paper
any material such as twigs, rods, plant stems, tied or wired with artistic connections
wire shaped to forms, more or less thin sheet metal pushed and shaped as flats or strips, hammered metal
sand stiffened with cement or water glass
foam, carved plastic from containers, burned foam sculpted with a small flame.
