what is a good high capacity mp3 player? (50 gb and up)?

i want to get the 250 gb ipod classic, but it's 250 bucks! is there anything less pricey that works well and is relatively small? it would be great if it works with itunes, but its cool if it doesnt. and dont tell me i don't need that much space. youre probably right but thats what i want any help is appreciated
