What is a good gift for an older man who loves the outdoors?

What can I get my grandpa for Christmas? He used to like to hunt when he was younger but now he has trouble getting out of the house. He still likes to read outdoor magazines but he has plenty subscriptions already.

On warmer days he tries to get out of the house and it does him a lot of good. It just seems to be harder for him. Do you have any ideas for a older man (he's 84) who likes the outdoors but has trouble walking. I am on a very tight budget.

Oh yeah we live in the north if that helps any.

As this is a family oriented forum, I'll tap dance around what grampa would really like. Lets just say a nice warm fire, a little nip of really good Irish whiskey, and a companion who might like to share an afternoon with a kindly old gentleman. It won't require much walking, and perhaps the companion wouldn't mind doing anything strenuous. We musn't tire grandfather out :) On a serious note, have you considered a walk in the woodlands with him? We're lucky here in Western PA, as we have the Montour Trail. Its paved and runs along an old railroad right of way, surrounded by forest. Spend some quality time with him while you still have him, and see if he's got a story or two to share. If you don't have a trail, a drive to a picnic ground in a state park could work. You don't have to spend a lot of money, its the time that counts. By the way, I'm kinda partial to Tullamore Dew.

Any man, young or old loves a new pocket knife. It don't matter if he has a drawer full, a new one will still be a prized possession. A single or double bladed folding knife would work. Some brand names would be Case or Buck knives.
