What is a good essay topic that has to do about Japanese History (or any other

East Asian country)? I have to write a pretty big essay (3000-4000 words) and I decided to do it about Asian History. I want to be able to argue two sides, or to have something to do with "what are the causes of....blah blah blah" Just a good topic idea that i can research more for. I was thinking to focus on Geishas or maybe tea ceremonies?
Another idea, a topic that has oppoising view points. Any ideas are very very welcome!

OH ALSO maybe something about How Japan became a world super power! Would that be good?
Also, we are told to ask questions such as "To what extent" so a topic around that would be good
