What is a good essay topic for Life of Pi?

I'm debating on doing the topic on the 3 major religions mentioned, but i'm still iffy on it. What would my point BE? :S

I want to find a topic that has 3 basic ideas involved, so its easy to write a structured 5 paragraph essay.
 
Pi is a character who follows or at least is interested in three different faiths: Hindu, Christian and Islam and at some point relies on all three to get him through his adventures. What does this say about faith and religion in general, and the fighting that often occurs because of what people believe?
Might all religions not have things in common or useful ideas? If there is a supreme being, does it care what it's called or how it's worshiped? How can any one group claim to be 'right', attack another or cram beliefs down a persons throat based on on religion?
