What is a good and cheap pay as you go cell phone service?

Straight Talk is the most inefficient company I've ever had to deal with. I tried to pay over the phone and my debit card kept getting declined. After several calls and several hours of dealing with them they made me call my bank. My bank said there were absolutely no problems with my account and I had sufficient funds. I called again and the representative kept trying to contact other departments. She put me on and off hold for an hour and finally told me to call back the next day. When somebody finally tried resolving the issue they said it will take 72 hours to have service. It's been a week and nothing.
