What is a fall garden?

I got a week 2 plant a fall garden 4 my grandma. I have no idea what that is. I been here most all summer cause of punishment and this is like something i gotta do so i got all my priveledges when i get home. so does anyone kno like what i can plant? i gotta get 4 plants 2 do. so do i just buy them and plant them. its a big space but my grandma just wants 4. any ideas? and like i gotta get all the stuff. do i jjust buy the plant and bury it? or do i need other things. i thank u 4 ur help. oh im im in pennsylvania
