I play poker on a Sunday with a group of about 20 people. Last week, one of these people got really irritated and called me a 'Cardigan Fish'. I often wear a big grey cardigan, but what the hell is a Cardigan Fish? It's really upset me this week and I don't know anyone who knows what this means - it's really hurting my confidence levels.

It originated a small working men's club in Wales.
There is a town called Cardigan, and it gets covered in Plaid Cwmru (or Played Cummry) as the folks in the Rhondda call it.
They grow a lot of sheep in Cardigan and a lot of leeks.
If a man leeks a lot in his cardigan he is known as a Squelsh Man.
The sheep, and the allegations made about Aristotle and Pliny, are nothing but ugly rumours but then that is waht Liberace said, and look where ended up.

Do you like fish sticks? ... Do you enjoy putting fish sticks in your mouth? ... Then you're a gay fish! lmao But seriously if he is a South Park (cartoon comedy show) fan then it is possible he was just calling you gay and making fun of your sweater simultaneously. It's a joke from season 13, hilarious episode, and in case you didn't get the joke say it out loud; sounds like fish-dix.

P.S - nothing wrong with a cardigan sweater lol

bizarre....a quick internet search of "cardigan fish" did not really turn up any results that indicate that this is an insult.

don't let it get to you, i'm sure the person that told you that is a mean spirited individual and if i were you, i would try my best to let it go.

out of curiosity, how old was the person saying that to you?
