I have a 92 mazda protege (DX?) and it won't start. turns over but no fire. I jump wired the diagnostics box and got a trouble code 2. Any Idea what that means??? Thanks
I checked the codes by jumping the Ten and GRD terminals in the diagnostics box. the CEL flashed 2 quick flashes so I am assuming thats a code 2. It has started up once from what I was told but just for a minute or 2 so it isn't the timing belt.

Your check engine code does not compute. I cannot find a code to match. Let's do some diagnostics instead. 1 Have some one turn over the motor while you see if the timing belt is turning. You will need to take a couple of screws out of the tining belt cover to see the timing belt. If it doesn't spin the timing belt is broken. Depending on the circumstances of when it broke the valves may have collided with the pistons and the engine is now F.U.B.A.R.Get a new engine. If you do need a new engine go to this webb site "junkyarddog.com" . Fill out the required information and you will receive quick responses and a few phone calls. A salvage yard engine will cost about $350.00
