The drapes are 95" long and pool nicely on the new laminate wood floor. The window is 136" across. The 4 end drapes have a copper panel from top to 1/3 down and the rest is antique gold. The two middle panels are solid antique gold. I have crown molding that I'm going to paint white. I'd like an elegant look. What color to paint the walls? I have an inset wall thats very short. What about red on the short wall? And what color for the rest of the room. I'd like something striking and appealing before I put it up for sale. The crown molding will be white. Can you give me suggestions? The room is 15x25; the window is on the 25' long and gets the western sun. Thanks for your thoughts.

NO RED!!!!!

Not only is red not everyone's taste, you are dooming the new owner to hours of work if they want to repaint. Houses with brightly colored walls are harder to sell.

When you sell a house, you don't want striking, you want something neutral everyone can see themselves living with.

Paint the whole room one neutral color. Since you have copper drapes, I would go with a warm beige like Benajmin Moore Wellesley Bluff or Mushroom Cap.
