What in the world is wrong with my car?

Okay my car is making a noise. It's in the back left by the wheel but under. It's making like a type of tapping/clicking noise. It happens if I'm parked or driving. I don't know what it is, if it was just when I was driving it would sound like something's stuck and something is hitting the ground making the tapping/clicking noise...but no. It's when I'm not driving too. I'm so freaked out...I don't know whats wrong and it's really been concerning me, my cars gonna like blow or something?? Please help me with what it is!! THanks
I don't have any money to get it looked at. My dad said he'd look at it late, but I've heard that before :/ ... But ya it sounds like a put put noise like an old car sounds around the gas area making the clicking/tapping sounds

it could be something as simple as the exhaust pipe touching the car body . while the car is off take hold of the exhaust pipe and shake it quite hard and listen for any thumping or banging or ticking as you describe
