What images could i use in my art topic 'surfaces'?

For my pre-art gcse i have been given the topic surfaces and i am really struggling as to what images i should use in my visual brainstorm, any ideas?

First thing that comes to my mind is macro type images of everyday surfaces such as a metal link fence, paving slab, skin, butterfly wing, marble, wooden chopping board, bark on a sycamore or cherry tree.

How about contrasting the surfaces of the different planets, craters, moonscapes etc and/or the different features of the earth's surface.
Or waterscapes?

I think skin surface is very important, as the texture changes so much between old to young and body part.
