nature since 2006? isn't there a law for taxpayers who commit a non-violent crime whether a misdemeanor or felony act that automatically dismisses the case if the offender never was called to come back to court in 3 to 5 years have gone by in louisiana?

no, but there is a law for citizens (not taxpayers) that says you have the right to a speedy trial (constitution) however, if you waived that right, there are usually state statutes that maintain how long a case can be drawn out

but if your attorney or yourself, is the one who is continuing, or stalling the case, there is nothing that says they have to dismiss it in any case, regardless of statute placed on the Prosecutor of your case.

There is a time limit for prosecution but that goes on hold if the person has a warrant. If you just wait it out it will never go away.
