What if you did the Video Game based Animated Features? *Spoilers*

(Note: I was not quite sure where this should go, since this is about Video Games. But it is at heart about ideas of Animated TV shows and to a lesser extent movies based on Games so I was not quite sure.)

One type of animated feature that seems to get plenty of flack are those based on Video Games. Sure they have had their supporters before but many of them have been awfully criticized for not being "accurate to their source material". This has often occurred for North American animation but Anime is not entirely exempt from it as well such as the likes of Pokemon. Granted like I said before it was often not realized that many of the games that had animated shows had one thing in common. You think the companies behind the shows don't have a good grasp on things like the games plot often enough the companies behind the games themselves can be just as bad if not potentially worse.

I know its not always like that (heck I have seen people whom strongly prefer Archie Comics' take on Sonic a lot more than what Sega is doing for the series' storyline nowadays). But still how would you do the animated features based on Video Games? Whether it was back then or even now how would you handle the animated features based on the various Video Games. (Regardless if they North American Animation Adaptations or Anime or both.) If you want to do games that never had an animated feature I suppose I can allow it. But its probably for the best to focus on the games that did get one.

Take one game/game series and tell us how you would do the overall plot of the animated feature of the show. What would you do differently? How would your take go? (Especially considering that back then Companies did not get the kind of information that we can get online nowadays.) You can let it be aimed at older viewers if you like even back in the 90's it was possible, granted not as possible as a Kids show but still. (Besides most of the games that did get a show were more aimed at kids anyways.) If you want you can even add in details like which Animation Studio you would use to a VA cast list of the show and more.

I'll add some ideas of mine later but still how would you do the animated adaptations of various certain Video Games?

For Zelda, I would stay far away from the cartoon as possible. None of this "Well excuse me Princess" or "How about a kiss?" crap. I would have Link stay silent except for his grunts and groans, but have everybody else with speaking roles.

I understand not wanting to keep it like the DiC series. But I dunno if a TV series with a Silent Link would work especially back then. However the Legend of Zelda Manga (Shotaro Ishinomori) and to a lesser extent the Valiant Legend of Zelda comics are good proof that Link actually talking =/= Horribly ruined adaptation.

Would they fight crime?

As for a series where the main character doesn't talk? At all? A show can go with limited dialogue can work, Samurai Jack proved it. But none from the main character. That's just out of the question, it works in the game, not in a show. Though a Zelda series in the same vein as Jack would be wicked. As would a Metroid show I think, it has so many visual treats, it could totally rip up Saturday mornings as a crazy sci fi action show. Also the violence wouldn't need to be toned down, seeing as monsters can be beat up pretty good. And maybe have Samus' identity as a secret, til the season finale or something, older fans would know obviously, but it'd be more for the kiddies, although I'm not sure if a female lead can carry on. I think it'd be cool though.

I'd like a movie based on Spyro the Dragon. In fact, I think that there actually IS one planned, but I haven't read or heard much about it lately.

But the ULTIMATE video-game movie would be...Kingdom Hearts. I don't know why Disney hasn't done or at least planned for one yet. Seems like a sure hit to me, if it's done right.

I would absolutely love a new Mario series that adapts the games into episode arcs. They have so much material to work with, unlike in the days of the old American Mario cartoons. They can adapt and bring a new spin to the platformers as well as as the RPGs. For fillers they can have a Mario Kart prix or a Super Mario Strikers tournament or something like that. I'm sure it could be real fun if made well enough.

This idea of mine is on the original Mega Man series which is based on Mega Man 6. In which this delves more into Mr. X and his supposed connection with Dr. Wily "namely manipulating that fool Dr. Wily from the Beginning".

*Spoilers*

Now I know that in the actual Mega Man 6, Mr. X was actually just Dr. Wily in disguise. The Mega Man NES series from 4 to 6 tried to trick us into thinking someone else would be the "Main Villian" of the game. But it ended up being just Wily for one reason or another.

*Spoilers end*

This animated feature (most likely for TV or at least a DTV movie) will mark the arrival or Mr. X as the new main villain. In which he plans to make his strike. Just as Wily was about to make another one of his evil plots for world conquest to come true something else happens. They were about to attack Mega Man but then they attacked Dr. Wily. Then Mr. X makes his dramatic entrance via a nearby Video screen.

He introduces himself as Mr. X and reveals that he is using the 1st New Annual Robot Tournament as a front for his plans of conquest. However he mentions that Wily no longer serves a purpose to him. Mr. X then reveals that he has been using Wily since the beginning. He was once a scientist that worked on Bio Technology in which he worked on a type of Nano-Machinery that can be used on the Human mind. It was not properly accepted because it was "an unstable prototype that can potentially cause harm". He wanted revenge for his scientific genius to not be fully used.

Not too long before Wily began using bots for conquest occurred Wily was at a nearby Diner watching Dr. Light on the news as he was being interviewed for his latest robotic breakthrough on a nearby TV. Mr. X arrived in noticing on how Wily was miserable on how Light is getting National New sattention while Wily was sitting around watching it on TV. X had a friendly little chat with Wily on how he can understand how its like to be an under appreciated genius while he buys Wily a Drink. Days later Wily's behavior seems to gradually become more & more like the Megalomaniacal Mad Scientist he is today.

Mr. X slipped in a few of his nano-bots in Wily's drink in which started to alter Wily's mindset. Back then due to his Nano Technology being in its prototype stage it can alter certain emotions that are commonly occurring in a victims mind and increase them many times over. Therefore tricking the victim that they are in complete control over their own minds. Over the years he used Wily to strike upon the world in his own plans for vengeance. But even though Wily has been stopped before (in fact plenty of times beforehand) he tries to work on keeping his plans alive while letting Wily get all the attention. And over the years he managed to figure out how to do this without needing Wily anymore.

Now Mr. X is ready to take control and be the only whom WILL conquer the world. Mr. X also ensures that he does have more plans but his sleeves that will be seen in due time. And now he will have both Mega Man and Wily be disposed of. In which Mr. X was giving thanks to this Tournament and Wily himself before he bids the latter adieu for he couldn't do this without them. Wily was at first horrified that all this time he was just someone else's puppet then he furiously swears vengeance that he vows to take Mr. X down! But as Mega Man tries to fight off the robots he was getting outnumbered especially since a lot more were coming but the bots got a surprise attack which gave Mega Man to get Dr. Wily to safety. (In which needless to say it was implied that Proto Man was behind the surprise strike.)

Not too long after this incident occurs Wily insistently apologizes to Dr. Light on how he has been and wants to work with him on taking X down. Naturally this gives just about everyone some mixed feelings both human and robot. Is Wily going to change for good or is this some elaborate scheme. Some such as Light were willing to give him a chance while others were skeptical. But any suspicion on Wily gradually lessened because after some inspection in which it can be confirmed that there was actually WAS a Scientist whom had his Nanotechnology experiments no longer funded due to how potentially unstable and dangerous it can be whom looked a lot like Mr. X here. He was a Scientist by the name of Xavier whom was last seen talking with Wily not too long before Wily's attacks occur but there was no evidence to pinpoint him until now. There was also on how he was thanking the Robot Tournament for its "support". In which all the companies involved were questioned to have been involved with X's plans.

Now its up to the Robotic Creations of the likes of Dr. Light and Wily to take down the forces of Mr. X once and for all. Can they do it? What other nefarious ideas does Mr. X have?

As for Voice cast I am not entirely sure to do it like the US Mega Man TV series or the English Dub of the Mega Man "Upon a Star" anime or a bit of both. But I could picture Tim Curry as a "Special Guest" Voice Talent as Mr. X though. I know this might cause some trouble considering how Mega Man 7 went but still. I thought I start off with this little idea here.

Well, if I did a Mortal Kombat animated series, first off, it would be more aimed at teens and adults so there would be lots of action, blood and my personal favorite, fatalities.

For Street Fighter, it would be alot more closer to the games and stays true the characters themselves and it would also have an Anime look to it.
