what if nothing comes up in the control window when u take a prego test?

I took a prego test... and there was a result window and then a control window above it.
There was a negative symbol and then there was nothing in the control window...
in the instructions it showed that either way theres always going to be a minus in the control window unless if its an invalid test... which would have nothing in both windows.. so what do i do?
