i got a couple grand of financial aid refund checks back from my school bc my cost for admitance and school stuff was covered by grants and some of my student loans....i know i have to pay the money back and i am saving some of it for future tuition costs but im asking is it really wrong that i spend a lot of the money on other things?

In some cases you can be required to pay taxes on the money you spend on non-school related items. I just keep my receipts, and spend my excess on things that are kinda related. such as last quarter I spent it on a printer and ink and stuff like that. But you may not be required to pay taxes on yours. and If its a student loan, I'd spend it on whatever because you have to pay it back.

no it is not wrong.. i mean its like they are paying you to go to school and its your money and you can do whatever you desire to do with it. at my school, there are a lot of people who spend their money on something else. but if you do decide to do that, just make sure that you are covered in all your other school expenses suck as books, etc.
