What html tags allow you to collect information about people who visit your web site?

There are several different codes, (not tags). Do you want to track visitors, the count of visitors to your page? Or do you want to track your visitors, like where your visitors come from, (even google has that, go to there site), or see link below for PHP - first link. Also Goebytes has a code to track where your visitors come from, see second link.

If you want more information than that, name, address, etc it is not available. And is an invasion of privacy if it was.
