what horror film should i get on blu ray?

I wouldn't go there, just yet. I don't want to be stung by the Betamax/VHS thing.

I don't know much about Blu Ray, but can we be sure there isn't another better system round the corner.

I think I'll stick with DVD and HD recorders for the mo. :)

The HD format war ended in January last year when Warner killed HD DVD by dropping it in favour of Bluray.

There will always be a better format somewhere down the line but its still some years away.

Missing out on Blu now means wasting further cash on dvd's that are already worthless after a few months .

And leaving it too long will mean your fave titles may well be deleted by the time you get on board.

As for a Blu horror.

The Thing is a good one to show off the improved picture and sound.

Just dont get The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original).
It's another example of how 16mm film just cannot deliver the HD gooRAB

The Mist is suppose to be good on Blu Ray.

The Orphanage is an excellent horror film.

If you like disturbing then Martyrs is out soon on blu ray, fantastic French horror.

Haute Tension/Switchblade Romance should look lovely, remember some nice cinematography in this film.

I was going to say Silent Hill, because it's so visually beautiful.

I don't have Blu-Ray myself, but I'd suggest Candyman, because it's a great horror film and it has some lovely tracking shots which I imagine would benefit. (Avoid the sequel.)
