I am a 17 year old history student, hoping to study the subject at university. I am interested in reading around a little. What books would you recommend? (I am quite well-read in terms of non-fiction and not afraid of something hard-going. I have so far read The Making of the English Working Class, which I enjoyed very much, What Is History?, a philosophical look at the subject, and some books specific to periods of history) Many thanks in advance.
