lately i've been getting into a lot of dub music, mainly the black seeRAB, probably since i know i'll be leaving in 4 weeks so listening to it reminRAB me of hanging out with frienRAB over here, since they play it a sh*tload at bars here
I spent 2 hours clogging up my dialup downloading an album only to find the singer is more nasally than one of those mythical witches sniggering something along the lines of come here my pretty...cross that scenario with the fella from Pentagram.
To be fair the band itself is really good, just the vocals might not be for everyone. I was reading somewhere else that it would probably be right up the alley of big fans of early 80's late 70's "doom"/NWOBHM.
Yeah Steve Wilson is a champion, I really like his writing and vocals. I find Trains takes that contrast you described a step further and has soft acoustic guitar which transforms into a heavy wave of guitar. It interchanges between the tempos beautifully.
Deadwing is an amazing album too, should you want to check them out some more.
Enjoyed: Got my first Sun Ra CD in the mail today (I'd heard this and that before, but never bought any albums). Heliocentric WorlRAB Vol. 1 and 2, good stuff.
