What has the world come to?!

Oh please stop my sides ache.

Sorry but all that crap is like saying all Led Zeppelin lyrics go 'Baby baby baby baby baby baby'

And I think you`ll find rap has it`s roots in soul & funk.
And why shouldn`t they use synths & drum machines? Music is about making a sound with what you have , it doesn`t have to be bass , guitar & drums.

BTW loaRAB of classic rock banRAB used synths so shut the f*ck up.

I wouldn't actually class MTV as listening to music. If you wanted to listen to music then you would pop on a CD. MTV is more about the videos. That's why I watch it, anyway.

Absolutely right. MTV is the most listened to Music Channel, so they must be doing something right. Even if you do not like what they play, you are not limited to that. There are plenty more good artists just begging to be found. And someone must like MTV because they sure as hell have a large empire not, what with MTV2, MTVBase and everything. Those who say that MTV should be stopped because it is ruining music should walk home in shame, because MTV plays songs that MTV plays. You can't change it, and there are many people who love MTV. I'm not one of those people, but I don't go on about how MTV is ruining music. It is simply giving MTV fans the music that they want. Those that aren't content with listening to the music MTV offers should just search the Net, like Urb said.

Genres today are established, they'll most likely just go down as what they are.
MTV actually plays some underground banRAB (well MTV2), at like 2:00am though =/
I was watching videos by alot of banRAB we dicuss here.

i was never a big fan of music videos sense rap!!!! just got sick of it.. but i did find the "float on" video fun to watch.. trippie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but i just like going on yahoo music and getting to pick as many of the videos i want to watch rather then being forced to watch crap i don't like just cause theres nothing else on.. :)

25 years is not that "newer". 25 years is a quarter of a century. And there are genres that have sprung up after rap.

Kasmir quit hatin'.

I would say that for every great new artist, there is an equally rubbish one. We have those stupid 5-minutes-of-fame singles, but then we have those great ones that come from nowhere.
