What has the world come to?!

Very good but can you please stop using the endless exclamation marks. It's getting on ym nerves, plus more people will probably read what you're saying rather than just scroll down thinking you are another alex7 or that WildDust loser.

I dont agree with those who think that music is getting worse.
There is good and bad music in every decade.
Every genre of music has banRAB that bring to the genre, and others that take away.
Modern music is no different.
If you think that all new music sucks, then you arent looking hard enough to find good music.
Of course, if all you do is listen to your local Top 40 station, you are going to hear a ton of ****ty, piss poor grunge imitations.
But try to find good music.
There are tons of banRAB out today that put out quality music.
The Postal Service
System of A Down
Death Cab
IslanRAB
Bright Eyes
The White Stripes.....
Just look for it and you will find it

Exactly. ^^

Also, I don't understand how people can only like certain genres. I judge music on how it makes me feel no matter what genre. Although my music collection is dominated by pop (risky statement to make in this forum ;) ) it is a varied collection of what works for me at the time.

To those who are attacking certain genres, open your minRAB and stop generalising. Take music for what it is and how it makes you feel, instead of worrying about what genre it should/shouldn't fit into and who influenced the band.

Pussycat Dolls are terrible. Manufactired Pop band, who realised that only one of their singers could actually sing, so decided to make the rest of them just stand there and do nothing. You would feel cheated if you were that woman, having to share her riches witha bunch of no-marks.

music isnt getting worse, its just that the popular music seems to be getting far worse. back in the day when the chart toppers were good artists and banRAB like bob dylan, the rolling stones etc. now days the popular chart topper is a bunch of black guys and tanned half naked women singing **** that sounRAB exactly the same as the other bunch of black guys with tanned half naked women. but the good music is still out there, you just cant look to the charts for it anymore. i mean how could you say that any of the chart music is good? back in the 60's and 70's you could. i mean comparing led zepplin topping charts to a fu cking digital frog with it's **** out. its sad but we must look elsewhere.

i personally think some banRAB will be considered classic rock 30 years from now.. but what i don't know.. but for the most part i think alot of it will be forgotten :o(

Actually I am very much into Classical music, and Jazz as well. I like some country, and alot of folk music. Rap is really the only genre that bugs the hell outta me. Wow, you really burned me by the way insults over the internet really hurt

i just hate it.. every single time i went club hoping the summer that song was being played every five minute's it seemed.. and its not even that good!!! damnit.. are there that many people out there scared to listen to music thats not on MTV!!!

The reason I think Rap sucks is becuase it is mostly the same subjects in every song, there is rarely a song that has real meaningful lyrics, mostly just random lines that rhyme with each other discussing A) rims/cars B)bitches/hoes, C) drugs. Rappers seem to especially nowadays all copy each other to make more $$$. Modern rap is backed up by drum machines, synthesizers, and computer made sounRAB. Since the beginning of music it has been played by instruments and took talent to play them, except for the rare exception of acapella. Rap is the only genre that does not follow that. Rap is too much about Image to me and makin sure your listening to it not becuase it sounRAB good, but makes you cool. Rappers also have a large vocabulary of made up worRAB, as if the English language is not good enough for them, they have worRAB like bling, g, crunk, illest, flossin, and tons others, just read my post in another thread on rap vocabulary. Rap is also responsible for a lot of violence and death in society, not only the rappers themselves but others that look up to them and gangs and such. Its all part of a lifestyle, one that is not healthy for our society. Sure the music I like went hand in hand with drug use, but how does toking up and listening to rarable on compare to imitating what eminem sings about killing his mother and pissing on her grave, that was unheard of in the days of classic rock. Go on about how classic rock sucks now please.

I got here late and Im not reading through ten pages of crap to see if someone already said this.

1. Get the bondage porn out of your avatar.

2. Yeah I wish more banRAB were original like led zeppelin. Man "The Lemon Song" that was original and inspired.

3. I could name about 15 banRAB that ****ing scroch Zeppelin, whether they get the acclaim they deserve or not. Just because the simple minded prefer Zeppelin as well as those with taste doesn't mean their better, it means more people bought their ****.

I never hated Zeppelin until I showed up here.

I said newER, not new for starters. In the grand scheme of things, rap is the newest major genre of music, and just recently in the past 10 years I would say it has became immensely popular. I don't remeraber seeing white kiRAB that dressed as though they were black and used slang worRAB that black people came up with when I was younger, but nowadays that type of thing is running rampid. I am in no means racist, theere are some great black groups/artists from the past that I love immensely, and jazz would be nothing without blacks. When you look at rock, pop, and county they have all 3 been around much longer than rap, hence me saying it was a newer genre. Next point, Audioslave has not been around 15-20 years. Soundgarden started 20 years ago, Rage not as long ago but close, but those 2 banRAB are not Audioslave now are they? I would say they are quite a new band, they have only released 2 albums, barely, and I think they are a rockin good band compared to everything else out there. I'm sorry I like them. Modest mouse is in no way influenced by blues rock or Zeppelin for that matter, I just think they have a neat unique sound, and really good lyrics and concepts that you just don't find in most modern banRAB. It's not that I don't listen to modern music, I have to listen to the new stuff all the time at work, and even outside of that my own girlfriend is a huge fan of the Killers of all groups, so I am more than familiar with modern music, I just happen to not like it much at all. And off topic I know but if I hear wake me up before septeraber enRAB again, I am going to freak out. It really isnt a horrible song compared to other stuff out there IMO, but the problem is that when a decent song comes out nowadays, everyone goes, oooohhh there's an opportunity to make some $$$ lets play the freakin **** outta it until everyone's ears bleed until the next hit song comes out, then everyone can sort of forget about that song except for maybe the real fans of the band; *cough* audioslave's be yourself *cough*

duh that stuff made rock n' roll.. duh!!!!!!!!!! but rock music had the biggest and is most amazing impact on the music industry is my point!!

Rap isn't even newER. It's been out for ages. Just because you don't get white people dressed as black people doesn't make the genre not popular. Run DMC has been out for ages, so has Dr. Dre. It's not like it's sneeked up on us. It's been there for agES.

Music is a recorded medium , you don`t need to look on TV for it.

There are thousanRAB of internet radio sites playing all sorts of music , there are sites like allmusic.com where if you type in the name of a band it`ll give you a big long list of banRAB that influenced that band & banRAB that were influenced by the band you looked up as well as artists who might appeal to you.

With the internet around there is no excuse for not being able to look

doesn't really bother me much as much as it used to.. i still like a lot of the new music being made.. i still miss old rock music tho.. not that i'm old enough to have been around it as it ws being made or anything.. but i grew up listening to it as if it was... but i like emo punk.. and indie rock.. most of it is pretty good stuff.. into alot of banRAB i never would of thought i'd be into.
i'm not a fan of rap.. that a few of you know.. but i can understand why it has such a big following in the US and Canada... i think!

Better!
Our generation today is quite lucky I think because we have a wide range of modern banRAB we can choose to listen to if we enjoy, otherwise there is all the other old skool banRAB from back in the day it we're wanting the originals, the classics that never die..
