What has a better motor? Mazda 6? or Fusion?

i have a 2006 mazda 6 witha a 3.0 liter v6 engine. my friend has a 2007 ford fusion. I dont think they are made in a v4 so why is it that he couldnt keep up with me? even if they are made in a v4 im pretty sure that he has a v6. Does the mazda have better acceleration?

I'm pretty sure he has the 4 cylinder fusion. He can't keep up bc its a really big car and low hp n tq. And I think the mazda has a bit better acceleration.
