I currently own an 07 Suzuki GSXR 600, but I am thinking of switching over to a Harley because 2 of my friends have them and it's just not as fun to ride with them since we are on different types of bikes. I understand there is a world of difference from my gixxer, but was wondering which 2008 model / line would give me the best performance. By performance I mean... I like riding the twisties and getting up to speed quick, not just looking for the most powerful engine, but good crisp power, responsive handling, nimble, etc.
My 1 buddy is getting a Nightster (XL1200N Sportster) on Friday so that rules that out. I like the retro look of the Cross Bones but I'm thinking that may not be as nimble of a bike as I would like.
What would be a good choice for me from what I have described? Any other suggestiosn such as handle bar style, etc.
I will most likely just be cruising it, but if I get the itch & miss my gixxer it would be cool to be able to get a little nasty on it
I should have mentioned I just don't want a V-Rod.
I love motorcycles and can appreciate all kinds of them. I would have 25 different kinds if I could, from a ducatti to a tourer and everythign in between, but i cant.
For anyone who is gona hate on me, you are missing the point. I been riding alone for a few years now and I am tired it. I can find random people to ride with but I want to ride with MY friends. Were all 30+, they are married, and we don't get to hang out much anymore. Trying to ride with them now would be stupid, they couldnt keep up, nor would they try. Wouldnt be much fun for me to putt around on a gixxer with a sore back either. If this makes me a "poser" so be it. I just wana have a good time with my friends. I'm excited that i'll have friends to ride with finally.
So forget what I have righ now! I know a Harley is NOT gona be a sportbike! But if I were to switch sides to a HD (other than a V-Rod) which would feel more familiar to me?
Thanks
PS >> I even had fun riding the little upright 250 honda at the MSF course. And that was after 4 years of riding an 03 GSXR 600 :-0
