I had a back tooth extracted and I did exactly as I was told. No drinking through straws, no smoking. They also told me to change out the gauze every 2-4 hours depending on bleeding. I took out the gauze two hours after bc it was irritating my open extracted spot. There wasn't hardly any blood so I didn't replace gauze so blood could clot. But I don't think it did. Can't see bc jaw too sore to open. But had dr visit and he said it looked really good. I don't know but what if blood didn't clot?
What happens when you have a tooth extracted, and a blood clot doesn't form? ?
