What happens when ur absent a lot in school??

If you're asking about reprocussions from the school, it would depend on the school district and the reasons for the frequent absences. This applies to primary school - not college. Some are more lenient than others. Some allow a certain number of medically-approved illnesses as long as the school work is done, others do not and require a certain percentage of attendance. Consequences can include failing a grade and having to repeat the whole year, or, as you've said, having to take classes during summer school to make up the specific subject(s).

Some very intelligent kids skip school because it's too easy, and they get bored. It doesn't sound like that's the case for your nephew.

Primary school is probably the easiest task you'll experience, even if it doesn't seem like it at the time. In the United States, public schooling is free. It's a shame to waste that opportunity.
