What happens when ur absent a lot in school??

My nephew(whos is like a little bro to me, and in 7th grade) has missed 7 days of his first quarter, and 5 days SO FAR of his 2nd quarter...My sister (his mom) keeps saying hes gunna be left back in school, unless he goes to summer school which she doesnt want to pay for...I feel bad, will he really be left behind?

Actually, what's the reason for him being absent? If it's because of a sickness, that's one thing, but he needs to go to school if that's not the case.
 
You miss some school= Pass
You miss school because of medical= Pass
You miss school alot= Borderline, depending on your intellegence
You come to school 20 days out of the year= Fail


I think it goes a little something like that.
 
not sure what happens in high school...but apparently when you get into college you pass classes. haha not really. however there is one class i went to every other class...or once every 3 classes and thats the only class i got an A in. the others i went to and worked hard in. hehe

well...i hope he doesnt fail out
 
most commonly if you miss a given number of days in a year(that exceed the normal alotted sick days) you do some summer school.... you only repeat if you are massively behind and there isnt enough days of summer school to make it up...
 
It depends on why he is missing school.

If he's doing what I did in 7th grade, beat his fucking ass.

If he's really sick with a doctors note, they can not hold him back.
 
Haha i live in a semi-small town(but its growing very rapidly) and I missed a total of 24 school days in one semester and they still gave me my credits..i thought for sure I'd be failed but I think they are just to lazy and break the law..o well good for me
 
At my school it's less to do with how often you are absent than how much work you turn in. I've been absent quite a lot and had good grades because I got all the makeup work and turned it in.
 
At my school it depends on how many times you are absent w/o a note. Me in 9th grade I had the flu then neomonia(sp?) pretty much back to back and missed like three weeks straight and I still passed because I had a note.
 
Ask FyUoCuK111. He missed 41 days of school last year, and STILL had a better GPA than me. Which is not to say I'm unintelligent. Right now mine's a 3.7. I think his trick was that he knew a doctor well enough to call him and say, "Hey I don't feel like going to school today. Can you fax me an excuse?"

If you have a doctors excuse everytime past the allowed number of absenses, they can't do anything. He could fail though from not being there enough to take in the information.
 
If you miss a lot of school you end up spelling words like "you are" or "you're" as "ur"

People that miss a lot of school are easy to pick out of a crowd. They happen to be the one's flipping my fucking burgers because they lack an education.
