I have an amp that produces 800 Watts RMS so i know i need at least 4 gauge wire maybe even 2 gauge. I order an amp kit and it was supposed to be 4gauge but its really 7 gauge.

If I hook up this wire, what will happen? Will the lights in my car dim b.c the wire is too small and the current is not getting to the amp?

I have a 140 amp alternator should it be able to support my system

no you should be fine, you just want a bigger wire for 2 reasons.. heat, and a better power flow you SHOULD have 4 guage but the 7 guage will work your not at risk of blowing anything
