What happens if the city tows my car for parking tickets and i don't want to get

my car back? I know i will have to pay fines when i want to renew my license or buy a new car but as far as paying off the towing company could i just leave my car with them and never pay them? i mean they have my car anyway.
 
You want to contact the towing and/or storage facility and work out a deal with them - otherwise, you could end up with an outrageous towing and storage bill after a period of time.
 
Just leave it.

Eventually you'll get a notice in the mail of "abandoned property".

You won't get a bill from the impound lot and the state basically assumes ownership of the car, which is then sold at auction.

(At least in my state. You may want to call the impound lot to make sure.)
