What happens if my ground wire for my stereo comes undone while it's operating?

Okay, so in my trunk I have quite a sound system. 1000W amp pushing two 12's, a 4X100 powering the door speakers, and the key part: a dual capacitor set up. I was rearranging my trunk, and I assume the ground connection was loosened due to the vibration of the subs. Well, needless to say, it came completely off while the music is still playing. I just spent 2 hours checking EVERYTHING. Control wires, grounding wire, power wire etc etc etc. I'm stuck, on the verge of having it taken in and diagnosed by a local guy. Anything you can think of will help. Thanks in advance, Riley.
