What happens if marriage license is not returned within 30 days?

For some reason, we forgot to get the pastor performing our ceremony the wedding license so he can sign it. Will our marriage be voided?
So even if we never return it, we will still be married?

Depends on the state. If the state law states it has to be returned fully signed within 30 days, you have to purchase a new license, because your marriage isn't legal.

You could have had the ceremony when you had it, and just get married at the courthouse legally. It's only an extra $25, thus it's cheap.
