what happens after a car repossession?

what happens after a car is repossessed...ie how do they try and recover money?

i assume they would come after the house....but if there is zero equity in the house...possibly negative equity....

what would happen next if payments simply stopped?
thanks for the info....but not really relavent to me. its not about my debt for a start, secondly, if it were my debt how do you know im not already doing whatever i can?

it does slightly annoy me when people answer a different question with the presumption that their answer is applicable.

They will ask you to pay the difference between what they sell it for and what you owe. If you refuse, they will take you to court and seek a judgment against you where they will most likely win. Once they win they will attack your bank accounts and garnish your wages.
