My cars ac was not putting out much cold air..My hubby and friend put the right kind of freeon in it and now the check engine light is coming on , and its heating up..Its a 97 lumina..thanks in advance.
I don't think the 2 are related. Have your codes read at auto zone to find out why the light is on and go from there. Start with the basics on your engine heating up. make sure you have the right coolant and it's at the proper level. Make sure your radiator cap is holding the correct pressure. Maybe replace your thermostat and flush your engine. Look for coolant leaks especially at or near the water pump. good luck. Hope this helps.
