because of Napoleons war debt France had to sell the U.S. all it's possessions here, hence the Louisiana purchase
And, to pay for defending itself against the Napoleonic wars, Russia was forced to sell Alaska to the U.S.
So he helped the U.S. a lot.
He did not introduce human rights to France, there was already human rights movements but it didn't have much of a chance until Napoleon destroyed the old way and allowed new ideas to crop up.
He did not do that on purpose but that was part of what happened after he left.
