I'm writing a short story, but I'm not really sure what genre it would fit into. It's set in an alternate/future world. It follows a group of kids/teens who go on an adventure to save their friend after he's kidnapped. I would think sci-fi, but with no aliens or space travel. Maybe fantasy, but it doesn't have mythological creatures. Any ideas?
