What genre of music do Demi Lovato, Boys Like Girls, We The Kings sing?

I was on my iPad and noticed a lot of the genres are skewed, and I wanted to categorize them better.
I'm in between Pop and Rock, but then I realized that's what Alternative is, and then there's also "Pop Rock".. lol.
So, which genre would best describe them? I'm leaning towards the last:
-Pop
-Rock
-Alternative
-Pop Rock

Demi Lovato is POP. Completely, utterly pop. She is not punk. She is not rock. SHE IS POP. Such terrible music. Most people would classify Boys Like Girls as alternative, but they're more pop punk to me, punker on their first album, poppier on their second. We The Kings is the same way, but they're not as poppy as Boys Like Girls, but they still are poppy. Rock is stuff like Avenged Sevenfold. Alternative is.. well the new alternative stuff is NOT alternative music. It's all indie. Indie does not equal alternative.
